Happy Women's Day

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th every year to recognize the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a day to raise awareness about gender inequality and to promote gender parity.

The roots of International Women's Day can be traced back to the early 20th century when women in many parts of the world were fighting for their rights, including the right to vote, to work, and to receive an education. The first National Women's Day was observed in the United States on February 28, 1909, to honor the 1908 garment workers' strike in New York, where women protested against the poor working conditions and low wages.

In 1910, Clara Zetkin, a German feminist, proposed the idea of an International Women's Day during an International Socialist Women's Conference in Copenhagen. The proposal was unanimously adopted by the conference attendees, and the first International Women's Day was celebrated on March 19, 1911, in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland.

In 1913, Russian women observed International Women's Day on the last Sunday of February, and it became a national holiday in the Soviet Union after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. International Women's Day gained popularity in other countries, including China, where it was celebrated for the first time in 1922, and in India, where it was celebrated for the first time in 1927.

In 1975, the United Nations officially recognized International Women's Day, and it has since become a global event celebrated in many countries around the world. Each year, International Women's Day has a specific theme to raise awareness about a particular issue affecting women, such as gender-based violence, equal pay, and women's political participation.
